Vacancy – HR/Payroll Officer

Competitive Salary, Permanent Position – Full Time or Part Time

An exciting opportunity to join an expanding established organisation and to support the continued development of the company.

We are looking to recruit an HR / Payroll Officer to join the business we would ideally be looking for one full time person to carry out these duties but may consider splitting the duties into 2Nr part time roles.

The position will be to carry out the HR and Payroll duties for circa 180 staff members in a professional ant timely manner.

The successful candidate will have hands on HR generalist experience / payroll experience and be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Job description

Provide HR generalist support to the management team and employees.

Manage Employee relations which includes absence management, disciplinary, grievance etc

Full recruitment lifecycle; advertising, screening, interviews, on boarding etc

Mentoring and supporting Apprenticeships and liaising with colleges

Ensure policies, procedures and employee handbook are kept in line with current legislation

Ensure Personnel Database is kept up to date

Ensure occupational health screening is up to date or arranged in a timely manner.

Weekly processing of payroll and calculation of SSP, SMP, SPP etc.

Reporting RTI to HMRC

Pension administration

Co-ordinate & recording holiday requests / absence etc

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships

High degree of integrity, confidentiality and commitment

Strong IT skills

Be organised, have the ability to work on their own initiative with good time management skills

Candidates must be self-motivated and keen to learn and carry out CPD.

Experience Required

Previous experience of working as an HR / Payroll Officer

Working within a construction back ground would be advantageous

Strong up-to date knowledge of employment legislation

Previous experience of Pegasus / CIS accounting software would be advantageous

A competitive salary dependant on experience, 30 days annual holiday’s inclusive of stats working hours Mon / Fri 8am – 5pm.
